Serious gas building up for another Carvin 727

after selling my black stain 727 to Cancer, my blue 727 has been feeling a little lonely

... i'm seriously considering having this built :

DC727
Koa Body
2 piece Koa neck
Flamed Koa Top
Flamed Koa headstock overlay
Birdseye maple fretboard (no inlays)
Stainless steel med. jumbo frets
Fixed bridge w/ graphite saddles
black hardware
Tung oiled neck and body

i will be making it very clear that i want some ridiculously figured koa and maple on this one

. as you can tell i have a thing for Koa

and i'm going with a fixed bridge and tung oil to bring out all that Koa goodness

. plus if i decide later i want a trem, the carvin fixed bridge can be easily replaced with a kahler.

Those specs look awesome! May I ask what the characteristics of Koa are? I need to know what is so special about it!

personally, i find koa to have all the warmth and sustain of mahogany with a much brighter edge to it...

maybe a cross between mahogany and alder or mahogany and maple tonewise. and it's probably the most beautiful looking wood i've ever seen

Ive always told like everyone my custom guitar would be an all koa 7 string!
