![]() | Does anyone else have the Fernandes Revolver Baritone 7-string? Because I bought it and love everything about it except for the EMG in the neck which I took out and put a PAF-7 in instead because I wanted something Jazzy. Anyway, all aside, I have 2 problems with it, not serious enough to give up this beast of brutality and beauty. Since it is Baritone and the headstock is reversed, the only string I could find that will fit that far is a long scale bass string. The guages that I uses are 11-60, and the set of six I can find fine, but that 7th string is a pain sometimes. The other problem is that I can't find a case to fit it perfectly so I'm using an SKB44 Bass case, which supports the neck well and it doesn't move around, but it doesn't fit perfectly, and I want something that will fit this right, or at least hold it snug. Let me know if any of you all have experienced similar issues, or if you have solved them and how. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | As far as the string length issue goes, I had an ESP SC607B which was a baritone w/ reverse headstock too. Certain strings would not reach, such as the S.I.T. strings if I recall. I believe D'Addario and Elixir are long enough to reach. D'Addario makes a 6-string baritone set 13-62, you could get and then throw a .010 on there and that would be a pretty evenly matched set tension wise. JustStrings.com has them. Good luck. |

I basically just stretch it as far as can, just poke the edge through the hole, don't wind it around the peg at all, and then start tightening the tuner. With a reversed headstock, I'd imagine it'd be more of a problem since the low B string is usually shorter than the high B or high E. |

![]() | I've found that D'addario strings "seem" to be longer in length out of the pack then other strings i've found. But i havent tested them on a baritone or reverse headstock before. What are your thoughts on the Fernandes ? I've been looking at it for a couple of days recently and it would be good to get some insight from somone who actually owns one. Cheers man. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you do a search for Fernandes on the registry of this site. You'll be able to find the specs of the original strings it came with. I've had mine for about a year now. It's a great axe. But Fernandes has done an absolutely horrible job of promoting it. Even their tech support didn't know anything about it when I called them up. "We are not going to do a free-form jazz exploration in front of a festival crowd!" |
