![]() | Rg1077xl vs rg550 20th well finally the rg550 20th in RFR color has arrived to my local dealer, it is reserverd for me thank god, but now ive found a guy that says he can get me a new rg1077xl, and the price is about the same, what would you chose and why ? ive always wanted a 1077, but i would also be the only one here with a cool 20th anniversary so i need your advice. Thanks at least im free to die |

![]() | I've owned an RG550 in RFR for ~20 years, it is a very nice guitar, but it is no 7 string and will have the usual down tuning issues any 6 has. It also has the old neck joint which at the time was great but I like the AANJ or neck through better. It also has the original edge trem, at the time it was unbeleivable with that recessed route but it has that whale tail in the back, the new edge pro/low pro are much better because they don't have the tail sticking up IMO. I find myself setting the original edges up to sit angled back into the route to avoid the tail. go for the baritone Adam |
