NGD w/pic story: Silverburst COW 7! Also feat. ESP custom shop, JP7, Ibanez, ...
So my silverburst Jackson COW 7 got in today! I was expecting it yesterday, but apparently Fedex deemed it unnecessary to ease my GAS pangs with next day shipping and they held it at their depot for an extra day just to piss me off. But I returned home from work, and lo and behold! A box has arrived while I was out! There is definitely no mistaking what the box contains.
![]() I head downstairs to clear a landing area, but dear god this room is too messy. No real estate to open a guitar in! I clear a space on the floor by making my bed (it also helps keep it fresher, longer!) ![]() I set the box down on a nice flat surface. If you cannot guess what my hobby is by looking at this picture, you are incredibly unobservant. ![]() I arm myself with what I think is a suitable pointy instrument to be opening boxes with. I set into the box with reckless abandon! ![]() I realize this is not a suitable instrument, but tough it out anyway. ![]() I open the top on the box and see how much junk is inside. My garbage can may have the space... ![]() ...then again, maybe not. I empty it out and this time put a bag in it so I don't have to scoop crap out with my hands next time I want to empty it. I put it in an optimal position to maximize ergonomics and speed, so I can rip into the goody box inside the big box sooner. ![]() While clearing out the packing, I see an interesting article from a small town Colorado paper. Home school music lessons? Deemed true. ![]() ![]() Oh my God! There is some swag packed with the small box! ![]() Lots of swag! But no Jackson stickers, or catalog. Maybe they don't have a 2007-2008 one (would not surprise me in the slightest). Oh well. The Schecter and ESP catalogs are both very nice, rich in color, and expensive feeling. ![]() I crack open the guitars box - so close now! I was hoping for the nice subtle black Jackson shirt (a la Mark Morton) but instead get one with a porn star on it. Safe to say, I won't ever be wearing that one. ![]() You can see the blackest black ebony board and shiny, well crafted Jackson Japan frets shining through the white packing stuff! ![]() Its the body! Look at that burst! ![]() And there it is. It is absolutely jawdropping. I can't get the finish to pop in pictures like it does in real life - this is way better then the Gibson SG Silverburst I owned not long ago. ![]() It is raining outside again so I can only take some indoor pics. The flash shows off the light flake the finish has got though... ![]() Now time for some family pictures while it is all assembled! I thought about the combined value of the guitars in this picture and almost passed out. But hey, I enjoy them. From left to right, the ESP Custom Shop SRC-7, Jackson SLSMG w/Blackout pickups, the Dean Avalanche 7 (my first nice guitar) in the back, the Silverburst COW 7, EBMM JP7 and an Ibanez S7320 that formerly had a Lundgren M7 in it and is being shipped out tonight. That's right - there are FIVE seven strings in this picture ![]() ![]() And a close up on my three ebony boarded guitars (almost, coincidently my three favorite sounding guitars of all the ones I own. And favorite playing, aside from the pure awesomeness of the JP7's neck) ![]() So there it is! The Silverburst sounds amazing - just as good as the other COW 7s I have had. For some reason strings feel floppier on this guitar then they do on other guitars, but I think they aren't Elixirs and that could explain that. I will restring it soon, but I am too busy playing it for now. The 707 is a great pickup - my first choice for a single pickup 7. The 81-7 just isn't as versatile. When the Phase II Blackouts come out, in the EMG housing, I will put the Neck version in this guitar because blackouts are definitely better then EMGs. The neck is just as nice but the bridge pickup route is a little bigger then it has been on my other COWs. Small issue though - it could be because the pickup is mounted extremely far out. But back to playing! Later fellas! +rep please if you like the pic story - I am not sure if anyone actually reads them

Anyone else think a silverburst would look totally neat over a quilted top?

the border... ehhh ahahah I just don't have any motivation to move out. I work 5 minutes from home and am home (during school) for maybe 30 minutes a day so I can deal with the border I chose when I was 9 for another eight months ahahah "Ah, she's built like a steakhouse but she handles like a bistro" - ZB Soundcloud - New clip April 19 |

Cool COW dude. Looks awsome.
I wish I had that axe collection of yours. A nice, diverse, collection of sevens (w/ the six). Oh, and to the various Robert Jordan books on the shelf.

Sweet looking guitar. And a very nice looking collection of guitars you got there. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on half of those guitars.
