Carvin in trade

I know that the resale value of a Carvin is rather low, but I was wondering if anyone thought it'd be possible to get more value from it in trade, as it is as solid in build and quality as any of a number of guitars that may have a slightly higher price tag. Sadly my 727 just doesn't call to me anymore. It sits very much alone leaning against my couch for days on end. I just wish i could stick that neck on an ibanez... cuz that neck is sex.

this is really more of a feeler than trade thread, thus it is not in the sale forum.
but for anyone who's curious the specs are as such
-mahogany body
-5 piece maple/walnut neck
-quilt top, ruby red stain, black edge burst, matching headstock
-ebony fretboard, no fret markers
-stainless steel jumbo frets
-black hardware
-floyd rose
-phase switch
-AN7 in neck, DS7 in bridge (a bit of wear around the pickup cavities from my DIY pickup change)

edit: photos added a few posts in

You mean as a trade-in at a music store? Unlikely. You'll never do better on a trade-in than you could selling the guitar (or just about everything else) privately. Remember that the most they'll be able to give you is what the market would be willing to pay MINUS their markup.

Nawww. I would never trade anything into a store for that very reason.

I just meant like... would I be cutting my losses if I looked to trade the guitar rather than just sell it. In retrospect it feels like a stupid question.

I'm just sad because i can't justify my nicest guitar being the one I play the least... But if I sell the thing, I know that i won't be able to get a 6 or a different 7 of equal quality. That's the effed up thing.

i might like to buy it for a reasonable price if you post pics and i like it.

but i'm not much for trades.

I'm typing this on my knees with my butt in the air. -Drew

lost the truss rod cover. And of course Carvin requires a 30 dollar minimum on orders, so it wouldn't be worth my trouble to order a new one.

damage around around pickup cavity. I had used a sharpy of matching color on it and it seemed to cover it up pretty well but that faded.

I still think it's a mad sexy guitar. Taking pictures of it makes me love it more. *sigh* Woe is me.

Also, I think the guitar is a bit more vibrantly red than it comes off in the pictures. Sadly digital photos are prone to color troubles which are hard to correct. The lighting gives everything a yellowish tinge. But i think you all know what that finish looks like more or less.
