Also, do you think a white guitar with blackburst edges would look nice? XD
They won't do white with a blackburst edge unfortunately, despite what their order form suggests. Everything is personal taste, but I really like their figured maple tops and their bridges. I don't like their floyd rose a lot.

I agree the RG7620 is a nice playing guitar, but we're talking about best for under $1500 not $500

Best 7 under a grand? A used UV7BK.

Nah, but like other people have said, there's a ton of shit that rules. Personally, i'd reccomend any of the higher end schecters. (C7 BLackjack, C7 Hellraiser, and the Loomis sig), a basic carvin, a RG1527, a used RG7620. You could probably find some Jackson Stars 7 strings.

Basically, you're open to any production models you want, besides EBMM JP7's, JCustoms and other higher end guitars.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

Hell yeah. i've been wanting to record a bunch of the music from doom for the longest time. I beat Doom & Doom II again about 2-3 weeks ago. The Icon of Sin is insane. \m/

I actually just ordered a 727 after trying a beaten to death one - actually, the PUs are quite nice for what I like. They are very clear and aren't real metal machines... But then again: I've always prefered low output PUs... oh, and I LOVE single coils!

If you go Carvin there is just one thing to remember: get stainless steel frets!!!

1500 will actually buy you a barebones EBMM JP7... So, my choice would be either a custom build, an EBMM with no options or a Carvin.

Cheers

Eske

Yeah, SS frets are the way to go. My spec'd out 727 is approx. $1330. Affordable, but I think the 8-10 week wait might kill me. lol
