+1 on the no way. My EMG equipped 6's and 7's could not sound more differently from each other. Granted EMG's are not for everyone, but there is no way on earth you can tell me my ash and maple Loomis sounds anything like my mahogany/mahogany COW 7's. They are not even close in sound.

The Loomis has a lot of snap and definition. If Im playing distorted chords in low registers with dissonant tones and I want to hear EVERY note, the Loomis is my go to guitar. If I have a solo that is getting lost in the mix - same thing. It has a more than adequate bottom end which stays tight, but its not the most massive thing in bass frequencies.

The COW7 is more mellow and massive on the bottom end. Its has a lot of attributes that remind me of a 7 string version of a Les Paul. (In tone not appearance obviously.) I have two COW7's one setup with a 707 and the other with an 81-7.

Both the Loomis and COWs are keepers in my book. Each serves a purpose that I dont get in other production 7 strings.
