chavhunter is just really nicechavhunter is just really nice
Im in a band with a 6-stringer who tunes to standard and drop d, and i use a 7-string in standard the whole time. It works easily enough for existin material as I usually double his rhythm parts often an octave down, or just using inverted powerchords (4ths) to beef up the sound. For writing new stuff thats easy since we can write our parts together and get some cool harmonies going

Life is a waste of time, time is a waste of life.
Get wasted all the time and you'll have the time of your life!

But he uses E standard tuning. What I want to know is if anyone else here is in a band with a 6 stringer and how do you make it work? Or should I force him to buy a 7 or use drop-B?

Any help or tips would be appreciated!

This has already happened to me this summer!!!! I tried to get him to open his mind and try some new things but he didn't want to try anything different! Long story short he quit the band and now we are going strong without him!! I think that it might be the same guy Rock on!

All my life I play in a band with 6 stringer but he is more metal than I (me - blues and jazz....he - metal) he always play drop d....and all was OK

I know this is probably irrelevant, but my friend Ragen and I experimented one day and combined our two 7s to make an 8 string.

He tuned His F# B E A D G B, and I tuned mine to BEADGBE, now that was one fucking monster of a sound....

My two cents

Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL
