Trust me, I was as big an Ibanez fanboi as anyone else for yeaaarrrs, mostly because there just weren't a lot of choices out there.

That's just not the case anymore, there's no reason to over pay for a second-rate product now.
I wouldn't have ever considered saying anything like that about my RG8427F.

I've played current J Customs.

Sorry to break it to ya, but they aren't any nicer than the old ones.

Let me state, that I DO like Ibanez guitars for the most part. They all just need more work after purchase than they should for what they cost IMO.

For the price of most "nice" Ibanez's, I'd rather have something else.

I still own one and plan on keeping it (an original JPM1).

Tuesday. At least I hope it will arrive then... My tracking number has been stuck at leaving tokyo international airport since thursday... PROBABLY not a good sign...

I'll get a Picstory and set up a "Show us your J. Custom" thread.

(HRG4's and LACS included of course!)

EDIT: Oh and guitarplayerone better get some pics of his!

EDIT 2: And that is my JCRG in my avatar as a taster!

Wow, that doesn't line up with my experience at all. The JP7 I had was nice, but the RG8670 I owned completely blew it away in all aspects.

In addition it had the nicest fretwork I have ever seen on any guitar, period... and that's saying something as I've owned Ibanez, EBMMs, Gibsons, Fenders, and Washburns.
