Well the one I was looking to order - Pearl Redburst, piezos, matching headstock, dot inlays - was around $1400 I believe. If you get the Mystic Dream finish that adds on a good amount though, I think I saw the MD ones for $1700-1800.

I made a topic a while back of when I did try that JP7 and how good it was, so that's really tugging at me. Granted, I play a lot more of Petrucci's material than Vai too, but I play for church (which is why the piezos appealed to me) and I often play with band more oriented towards classic rock/modern rock stuff so the versatility of the JP really appealed to me.

I have to say, I'm a vain person when it comes to guitars and like someone else said the JP's look really doesn't grab me like the UV. The only Ibanez necks I've played are the RG7321 and the other RG production model with a tremolo and it sounds like the UV necks are similar, but unfinished which I like.

j custom necks are supposed to be very similar to the UV

they also look very very hot... if youre into JEMS, well, their vine inlays are even more elaborate for the new 2007 line (Ikebe origional HRGBX has the old school vine which is the same as the JEMs)

Edit: the jem vine is totally different... my bad... the oldschool j custom vines are just less elaborate than the new ones

and they sound sick... no peizos though

in any case... dont buy it lool, i just realized... then that will make mine more unique when one less person on the forum has it

EBMM's are nice but there's something about Ibby's...

If you want versitility the UV's have locking trems and a real single-coil pickup.

unfortunately, im out 250 dollars due to circumstances out of my control...

so that will set me back a week or two...

dont worry, i WILL get that guitar...

btw i told you i found actuall pictures of the BX color and im definitely getting it if i can... so even though we will have the same guitar the finishes will still be different

also, i think ive decided on an Evo7 for the bridge, so the tone will be different as well (vs your Dsonic 7)- and no not out of spite or anything lol, just because of the stuff i hear about interference and muddiness (i was worried about mud with a mahogany bodied guitar)

Lucky seven: I haven't got it yet! It's getting shipped tomorrow from japan so you can expect a picstory next week!

Enough OT! It seems to me that subconsciously you want the UV... I dunno...
