Ibanez WTF?!

I love Ibanez guitars, BUT! What is their deal this year?

Apex2, Munky "Signature" model-$700 Made in Indonesia!

S7320-$700 Made in Korea!

RG1527-$900+ Made in Japan (with terrible pickups)

So in order to have a well made Ibanez that intonates well, does not have visable glue seams through the paint, and has nice pickups, I have to spend almost as much as a custom made guitar...very sad.

Thanks for letting me bitch.

I really don't see the problem here. If everyone else can swap their pickups, so can you, and the 1527 is a great guitar. No idea what intonation issues you're referring to.

The Korean-made Ibanez guitars this year are actually very well made, from my personal experiences.

I couldn't agree more the 1527 is a beautiful guitar, but for $900+ I don't think I should have to drop another $200 on pickups.

$900 isn't that bad considering its a prestige model and it plays awesome. The pickups could be better but they're not terrible. Not a big deal dude.

It's not as bad as it seems. Japanese craftsmanship is pretty high quality and Korea is getting much better. For the same thing made by say Fender USA or Gibson you'd have to pay probably an additional $1000. So another $200 isn't too much from that point of view.

BTW I love your avatar, I'm a huge AILD fan.

My S7320 is great. I've played better of course, but those were all more money and MIJ
