I'm very happy with my Indonesian RG2ex1. But that was after I put in an EMG85 and new tuners and gave it a full setup. It plays awesome now, but before, it was blah.

Someone said that the Prestige guitars are now being made in Korea.

Where's the proof because I don't believe it...

This is a rather stupid argument. Everyone's bitching about the stock pickups in the Ibanez models but Ibanez can't put Dimarzios in every damn guitar they make just so they make all of us happy. Theres alot of kids out there that buy those guitars and they couldn't be happier with the pickups. So if Ibanez goes and puts the dimarzios in every model they are going to cost quite a bit more and won't be as affordable to everyone. I also find it hard to believe that j customs can feel cheap compared to anything at all i dont care what it is. Those are easily some of the best hand crafted guitars made and i wouldn't trade one of those for a jp7 if u gave me the jp7. Just my opinion...

Those little stickers on the backs of their headstocks.

You've got your head down
You've got your eyes closed
You look so pitiful now

Your body encrusted with ash
Breath heavy with toxins
Hair singed and matted
Clothes frayed and burnt

You are left with nothing

Not all Prestige guitars are made in Korea. The RG line is still MIJ. The S's are Korean, though.

+1. Besides, not everyone likes the same pickups. Anyone who cares that the stock pickups aren't Dimarzios would probably bitch if it wasn't a certain type and would eventually switch them out anyways. So they might as well just go cheap and let the consumer decide what he wants for himself.

First, read this... This is quoted from Rich Harris' article of Namm 2005:

Quote:
The are many stories to this years NAMM show. The biggest probably, the confirmation of the first Korean made Prestige guitars, the S2075, the SA2020, and the SZ2020, both made at the World factory and priced accordingly. Close inspection showed the SZ to be below typical Prestige standard in fret finishing, but, the SA was excellent, again proving, it all comes down to the hands that do the work. Also noted was that ALL Prestige line bass guitars have moved to Korean production as was expected. All guitar production was supposed to have moved this year also but has for the most part been held off until 2006, according to the rumor mill. Word coming out of the Fender and Epiphone camps is that Fujigen is no longer going to be producing guitars in 2006 forcing the move to Korean or to find suitable production capacity elsewhere in Japan, not that elsewhere is going to produce guitars as good as Fuji, or even World or Cort. We'll just have to wait to see how that chapter plays out. No word on what's going to happen to J Customs, that news would have to come from Japan. [Another version of the move to MIK story has the owner of Fujigen and Tommy Tanaka, President and CEO of Hoshino Group, hate each other, even though they are both married to Hoshino daughters. Evidently Fugijen has their own house brand guitars they will continue to produce. I've heard the reason Fender will no longer be made there is a fight between the Fujigen owner and Fender execs. This all comes from a reputable source so it's just quite possible it's this stupid.]

And as I said before, S series guitars are NOT the only prestiges that have moved to Korea for production. There ARE six string Prestige RGs with Korean labels now. I don't know this because I read some bullshit rumor somewhere, I know this because I played three of them at a guitar store.

For Sale:

Ibanez RG7CT w/ UV case - $1800 plus ship/paypal

2008 PRS Custom 24 10 Top w/ case - $2200 plus ship/paypal

PM me for more information
No trades please
