Arctodus will become famous soon enough
Ibanez doesn't seem to hold a mid-range instrument. They have either really low end stuff or insanely high dollar stuff. I find it disappointing to pay around 700 dollars for a low end S series guitar and it has the crappy ass INF pickups that a 300 or less guitar has. They could at least toss in the V-series which are quite a bit better sounding. Not to mention the plastic on the tremolo cavity and electronics. You basically have to drop new pickups and electronics and graph new sturdier cavity covers to have a par instrument.

Schecter guitars MIK are made so much better and have better stuff in them. I don't know why Ibanez keeps the beef all in one room.

I'm with the original poster, to a certain extent. MIK guitars should have nice pickups in them if they're to cost $700-$800. Schecters do, why not Ibanez? $700 for an indonesian guitar is unacceptable, IMO.

And the V series pickups, at least the ones in the 1527, are indeed crap. The guitar needs new pickups, then it's a great guitar. But even after that, I don't think it's a bad deal, considering the quality of the guitar.

Mucho mucho dinero. Probably twice what a 1527 goes for, even in Japan. That was my point--a JP7 overseas probably sells for a lot more than it does in the USA, which generally seems true of U.S.-made instruments.

so there's no point considering a JP7 unless you're rich!

That's a little high I think. I've got a few friends in the UK with JP7's that didn't pay anywhere near that. :o

haha ye i know, swe isnt exactly known to be a cheap place to buy stuff

and as Alpo wrote, (tho i understand a 1527 is a bit cheaper in Finland) a JP7 would be in roughly the same range, €3000 / $ 4000 over here, maybe a bit more, wich makes ZeroSignals second conclusion very much correct

Eat Shit. Billions of flies can't be wrong.
