The Ibanez S7320 with a pickup change (BKP cold sweat/ceramic warpigs :p ) would be bad ass!

Thanks. That certainly helped a little bit. How much do RG7321s generally run?

Something you should have probably mentioned in your original post...
You can rule out a custom Jackson given your price range and the fact that you want it quickly (you're looking at $3k+ and probably more than 12 months). Actually the quickly bit rules out any custom. From Ibanez currently in production in the US you have the Apex 2, from Schecter the 007 Elite, C-7 Blackjack, C-7 Hellraiser, Damien-7, and the Omen 7. Out of that list I'd recommend the Hellraiser, Blackjack, or Apex 2. The rest comes down to personal preference. The Ibanez will have a thinner neck and is a 25.5" scale while the Hellraiser and Blackjack are both 26.5". They all have Mahogany bodies and all come with good pickups.

I pretty much had figured out the Jackson would be out of the picture.
I'm probably going to go with an Ibanez. So far, the Apex 2 and 7321 are the only ones I am thinking about. Do you have a link for the Apex? I've never seen/heard of it, which puts me in the dark. |

Seeing as you already play a Jackson, you can try out the COW 7 model. Only limitation would be that it only has a single EMG 707 and a volume knob, so no tonal variety there. I'm currently loving my Schecter Avenger, you really can't go wrong with any of their guitars IMHO.
I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

I will take the COW into consideration as well. Right now I am just looking for prices on the two Ibanez guitars I have listed (Apex 2, 7321) so if anyone has a general idea of how the prices go, a reply would be welcome.

They run $699. The 7321 looks a bit better, but the Apex has a mahogany body and DiMarzio PAF7s, both of which are huge plusses IMHO. |

I wouldn't get a 7321, the necks on those are pieces of crap imo. For death/grind the COW would be a bit snappier sounding than the hellrasiers which I think would be better.
