Custom RG7-BB Completed Porn (**56k - wow, get broadband cheapskates)
Ok - finally finished this project.
I am calling it the RG7-BB (Blue, Binding). It has a few features that I really love. Here are the pictures of the guitar from the drying stages taken about 3 days ago to finally being assembled today. ![]() Beautiful - absolutely love the contrast of my two favorite colors on the headstock. Headstock was bought online from a guy on ebay. PM for details - I actually have 2 of the decals left. ![]() Angled shot of the headstock - cant really tell but the glossy clear is awesome! ![]() Front shot of the guitar - in all its bounded glory!! ![]() Another front nude shot of the body. ![]() This shot allows you to see the clear coat shine. ![]() Back side shot . ![]() Gratuitous ass shot - UV jack mod. Cant tell where the old jack was. Wood putty FTW!! ![]() ![]() 1st shot(s) taken after completion!! Full Frontal Nudity! ![]() Body shot with all the hardware installed. Dimarzio New 7s , 1 Volume knob (that just died on me) and fender 3 way switch. ![]() ![]() Side view of the body. ![]() Super clean frets and dark fretboard!! ![]() FUCK!! First chip already..... ![]() Look Ma, no tone! cant even tell a tone knob existed...love wood putty. ![]() ![]() Back of the body - covered electronics and jack cavity. But wait why isnt the trem cavity covered up??? ![]() Fuck Yeah - Tremol-no installed thats why there isnt a cover. currently have the trem in blocked mode. Love the increased sustain. ![]() Flamed maple neck...never had a pic to really show this off. ![]() My fav part of the guitar really... that headstock is awesome!! Well thats the pic story summary of the past two and a half weeks worth of work. Thanks to all those who helped with paint advice, wiring advice, painting advice and just general support. If you have any questions please ask away and I will try to answer them!! ![]() EDIT: Updated pics with the neck and headstock fully bound. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by djpharoah; 07-21-2007 at 07:46 PM. |

Looks great Mesh. I like it better than the green. Good move. Your patience paid off big time.

Nicely done! IMO, one stripe for the binding looks 100% better than 2.

Looks good! Pinstripe binding for the body but not the neck/headstock? Aw. I like a single stripe better, too, but that might just be because the two makes it more obvious that it's not real binding.
Looks good either way, though!

That might be just temporary - I ran out of the pinstriping tape. Its faux binding and I think it looks better than just a single stripe.
