yea i read it in a guitar one or world or something. They used one in the studio, don't remember the model but i know they used the EMG 707 in it. I think they might have used it like Metallica did by just doubling up on the Db or whatever they tune to. oh yea...metallica if it wasn't said

Really? They were in a guitar magazine?

I'm just pissed off that a lot of people assume that since I'm Canadian and a musician, I must be a Nickelback fan, and must make music exactly like them. It's cool if they used a 7-string in the studio though, I'd be curious to hear what they did with it.

and when I had a 4-string bass, I played that 1/4 of the time (not a factor now. Gave it to my brother before I moved on back to Japan).

It's too bad it took you moving to Japan to play a 7. We have Clint's roommate playing guitar with us now, and sure enough, he's playing on my backup 7. They're contagious.

Yeah. Had to really work on the EQ on that mandolin to get it so it didn't break your eardrums with the treble when we ran it with distortion. But it sounded pretty crazy after we tweaked with it awhile.

Hey, I was planning on buying a seven when I lived in the US. I was waiting till I moved here to actually buy it though. I even told you one time that I was planning on buying one.

And I don't consider myself a "7-stringer" or a "6-stringer." I consider myself a "guitarist" and a "musician" and I'll play 6-strings, 7-strings, 12-strings. Heck, I've wanted a 5-string bass for the last 4 years, but had to settle with my 4-string. If I could get an 8-string for real cheap, I'd play that too. Heck, if I won a 9-string, I'd play that. I want to buy a shamisen too. I like ethnic instruments - part of the reason why I bought the mandolin. Thought it looked and sounded sweet and liked the idea.

George Lynch!? Hello! EADGBEA he had the fretboard done up in mostly rosewood or ebony and on the high A he had a maple strip. Looked crazy but he claims shredding was much easier. Also he wanted a motorized pickup. I'M NOT CRAZY! Check out his website! Sheesh...maybe I am crazy....anyways!
