I'm heading there this Saturday and I'm on a mission to try a JP guitar as their site says they have one and check out if they have any hidden gems in the used guitars and such. I've been meaning to try a Digitech Expression Pedal too, so that all should be pretty good considering this place is big, at least compared to my regular music store visits.

So, if anyone's been there, lately or ever, any comments, opinions, stories, anything?

Veneman music has been closed for about 8 years and is now a guitar center if youre referring to the music store in Rockville, Md.

Oh wow, seriously? I just looked them up the other day and they were listed as Veneman's still, but part of Musician's Friend. Wow. Um, so I don't want to waste my time driving to a Guitar Center two hours farther than my closest one when I can see the same stuff I always see.

Well that kinda sucks, hm. Thanks for the tip though, you just saved me about six hours in the car.

How about this:

Drive to the same area but swing around the beltway a bit further to Washington Music Center which is effectively the land of milk and honey for gear. Theyll have about 10 JPs for you to choose from and an equally impressive stable of amps. Its only 5 minutes from the GC and definitely worth your while.

Wow? I mean they have a wall of fender but they also have music man, ernie ball, anderson, gibson, gretsch, jackson, PRS, godin, taylor, martin, ibanez, etc. They have Bogner, Diezel, ENGL, Fuchs, Peavey, marshall, H&K, Krank and Vox amps.
