Hmm, it would be interesting to play a 6 on a 7 neck, but I wouldn't use my main seven for that. I have no idea how you'd do something like that.

Fender Standard Telecaster w/ Dimarzio ToneZone(bridge)
Schecter C-7 Blackjack w/ '59(neck) and JB(bridge)
Sigma Acoustic (CGCEGC)
Line6 Flextone III XL

My acoustic stuff

"I don't want to play a 7-string, I just can't get my head around it.."

Yeah because the concept of a string a fourth down is so alien. Man, it took me 2 minutes to adapt to a 7-string. Lame.

If he needs that wide a fingerboard to accommodate his fingerstyle technique he needs to improve his fingerstyle technique, IMHO.

I think Leo Kottke used to use wider string spacing on his acoustics, but 6 strings on a 7? I don't think so.

man, some people are taking this so personally, its as if they had forgotten that this planet was largely inhabited by idiots

Although I think his reasons for wanting to do such a project are dumb as hell, I find the idea interesting

Lay off the dude people.

Remember that classicals have the same nut width as a 7. I think the idea has merit, if he's more used to the extra-wide string spacing.

Nowhere does it say what guitar he's using for this. It could be a $99 beater, considering his other gear, and then who the fuck cares. It's his guitar after all.
