New (cheap) guitar day. 56k ---> do i really need to tell you something?
So... I received my Epi LP7 from music 123.
The price was so low, i couldn't resist the urge to try what a LP7 feels like. First thoughts (it's an "open box") after playing the guitar for 10-15 minutes. - Well... It is a 300$ guitar after all. Overall, it feels like it. My saber is gonna keep its dayjob ![]() - Finish is ok but not even. Some "spots" in it. Back of the neck feels really great with that matte finish. - Neck feels great, not like a baseball bat at all. Strings spacing is ok, not to small (i have very long but "thin" piano-player fingers) - Imo, Frets could be bigger, that would help. Also, they're a bit uneven: when i look at the neck, it's straight but not the frets. - Pick-ups sounds damn good for a guitar at that price. They're probably worth 1/3 of the guitar cost. - Tuners are pieces of shit. Low B was wrapped the wrong way around the tuner and it kept losing pitch. We'll see later about that 'cause... I still need do change the strings and do a set-up. Fingerboard needs to be cleaned and oiled too. Finally, I feel it's a great deal for the price. It's going to take me a couple of days to get a real opinion on this. I might get back on this. Here's pics, nothing you haven't seen before so i won't post a hundred : ![]() ![]() ![]() With tha family : ![]() Rock on. |

No kidding. They feel like they could break any minute. If you ever try Gotoh or other quality tuners, you'll see what i mean.... So i've played the thing for an hour last night and i have to admit this thing is a SUSTAIN beast. Chords rings for hours and they sound huge. A great plus imo. Neck feels really great. Of course, it's not a guitar to shred leads on, but man, for rhythm and chuggin? It's a 300$ fuckin' well spent! Might look for white boppin toppers for it... |

I'd be all over one of those if they were a longer scale-length, because I'm hooked after my Ibanez AX110XL and Schecter Hellraiser.
I'm considering selling my Schecter Revenger-7 because I'm not sure I'll ever play it again. |

Neat! I used to want one of those, and I've kinda wanted one again since you and Yevetz have gotten yours, but I really think my next 7 needs to have a 27" scale. Looks great, though!
