Nice to hear that, it's great when you found the solution to the problem on a guitar

Cut some tubing and put it inside the springs, there was some problem and someone linked to a page where someone did that and it fixed their problem.

Thanks everyone! The next live video from a bar gig I post, will be of me forging metal on it!

I had a slightly-damaged vol pot in it, so I redid it, and it's 100% in tip-top wiring, physical, and all sorts of shapes. Now I just gotta put my rack back together and fire it up!!!

Here it is. Dunno if that will fix your specific problem or not since it's for that popping sound...but it can't hurt.

Hmm.. that makes me think even more... what if I covered the springs in heat shrink tubing, but not heat shrink it?

Just do the old tried-and-true Steve Vai napkin trick. You can use napkins, paper towels, etc. Roll up a piece of napkin and stick it inside the coil of each spring. Then, fold a section of napkin & place it between your springs & the trem plate. Works every time no matter what pickups you're running.

I've got napkin or kleenex or something in the trem cavity of my Strat (not very neatly, but then I don't use the trem, it's just cranked down so it works almost like a fixed bridge) since I was having this problem in the studio and someone jammed some in there for me. Works like a charm.

Glad to hear you found out what was wrong with that. I couldn't even begin to guess what was wrong with it from reading your original post about the issue.

Neither could I! That's why it took me about 3 months to figure it out.
