Unhappy Talk me out of it...

Guys, for a good month or so I've been doing a lot of guitar looking because:

a) I miss EMG pickups and won't hack up the UV to put them in there.

b) I a GASSING like crazy for a Mahogany body guitar

c) I had some pickup wiring troubles the other day and got really tired of taking off the bridge and pickguard every time I needed to make a change and reassemble to try it out. I really miss having a guitar that I can access the electronics in by just taking off a plastic cover.

d) since tuning to A I want to keep one longer scale guitar and one tuned standard with a 25.5".

I've been looking at Schecters like crazy! The C-7 Hellraiser is calling my name like you wouldn't believe!!!

I'm considering selling the Universe and buying a C-7 and somehting else.

What are the necks like on the C-7? The last Schecter I played was an A7 that I sold on here to fund the UV and I didn't like the neck at all. Have they gotten better?

how about my esp? I can remove the pickups for ya and drop the price a bit since you'll need to buy some emgs for it. It's not mahogany but it's swamp ash and you may like it.

I dunno man, swamp ash is kind of the opposite of Mahogany isn't it? Mahogany = dark sounding, Ash = bright?

I'll definitely consider it but I think the tone wood may be the opposite direction of where I want to go.

How much w/o pups bro?

umm sort of goes around your question but either install X2N-7's, blackouts, or get a new pickguard that you can install EMGS in (idk ifyou have to sand under the pickguard but at least you wont see it when its on)

methinks anyway

I've got an X2N in the bridge already and even if I put on a pickguard that will fit EMG's I'd still have to cut out some wood somewhere to fit a battery in it. I think my biggest concern is the darker tone of mahogany.

The Hellraiser sounds up your ally dude.
You might want to consider the Jackson COW sig too. Its all mahogany(neck too) with an EMG 707. The lack of neck pickup might ward you off though.
Its the same quality as the Hellraiser too I'm sure.

Yea, I need a neck pickup.

Who can speak of the neck profile of the Hellraiser? How much thicker than a Wizard is it?

I played one at GC recently, think Gibson Les Paul gone 7 string or maybea baseball bat, it's definitely not a shredder profile neck IMO.
