I just wanted to say again, thanks so much for posting these. I just got a used one, and has some questions about the setup (for instance, if the shims under the lock nut and the low b saddle were needed), so it's been really nice to be able to compare it against a new one.

I'm "designing" my new one now, as I am sooo getting another one of these.

Wow I missed this thread! That Carvin is gorgeous!!! For the price of their guitars and the customizable options, you can't beat them!

I will end up ordering another custom guitar from them someday when I have some extra money floating around! I'm thinking quilted maple top, mahoghany body and an aftermarket OFR-7!

You made a great selection on yours, that finish looks fantastic!

I gotta be honest the specs are probably not going to vary too from the standard:

Alder body and wings
LFR ith locking nut and black hardware
Maple fretboard with side dots (never owned a guitar with a maple fretboard so.....)
Solid or seethru red
Tung oil finish for the neck
Jumbo SS Frets

Of course, given Carvin penchant for bright guitars I'm seriously considering the mahogany body and neck option. In any case we'll see.
