I'm honestly not very neck-picky and I feel comfortable with just about anything you give me. Given that, I still think the neck is pretty damn comfy. I heard people say that it feels gigantic, and I don't have any other guitar to compare it to right now, but it feels medium-sized to me, not too big at all.
From what I remember the petrucci is still fatter.

the Hellraiser 7 neck is substantially fatter than a Carvin 7 neck.
"gigantic' doesn't come to mind when I play mine at all.
I think it's comfy as hell.
