They've been responsive with me, mostly in telling me they don't see the reason to make a 25.5" seven string neck, since the 25" and 28.5" necks they DO make don't sell (gee, wonder why ).

That said, I played a warmoth strat not too long ago that smoked.

Warmoth makes badass 6 string strats, teles, and a few other items. They also have fairly good to great part selections. Thier logic regarding 7's and the general response we got when several of us went over to the Unofficial Warmoth boards puts me off in a big way. Unless I am just jonesing for another 6 string, which I dont see happening anymore, I will not buy Warmoth again unless I have no other choice.

I built a Warmoth strat about 10 years ago. Their quality is top notch. I've since had to retire my warmoth due to abuse, but it served me well. My gripe with warmoth is there's an upcharge for almost anything that isn't plain vanilla - even for shit that they have the CNC and tooling for.

Honestly, the quality of the Warmoth strat I played was on par with if not better than anything Fender's doing these days. I'd be shocked if you ordered a Warmoth and it wasn't at LEAST as well made as anything from either of the companies you mentioned, especially if you're having them do all the finishing too.

I had them custom build me a VII body and they didn't charge me an arm and a leg for it.

The neck, however, they wouldn't build for me.

Well since I've been working with USACG to get seven string strats and teles I've learned some nifty stuff. Like when Warmoth introduced the sevens they didn't talk to a single player about them. It was all guess work by non players. That's why they're not selling.
