Well folks i told you i would post the media so you could hear the difference between the two. Now for these audio samples, I used the same tuning, same pickup height, same effects eq on my metal master, and same noise gate setting. so without further adeu, here they are
Blaze Bridge (DP 702) Putfile - 7wow Blaze Neck in the Bridge (DP 700) Putfile - wow2 56 I know the difference is only subtle but its what i wanted to change. I wanted slightly less bass and slightly less treble, and mission was accomplished. So tell me what YOU think. Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL |

i prefer a compressed emg sharp type sound, so i'd go with the first clip, but i think the 2nd clip definatly sounds fuller

yeah thats what i thought, the 700 got me THAT much closer to an EMG type sound without having to go active and route the hell out of my beautiful 7. I think the 700 is suited a lot more towards being able to do BOTH rhythmns AND leads with it without too much trouble.

I really don't think the difference is subtle at all... Am I correct in assuming that you didn't adjust the gain level when going between the 702 and 700?
Anyway, having listened to your clips just confirms that I still prefer the 700 to the 702 - it just has more tone and body. My current PU combo is a PAF7 in the neck and a 700 in the bridge. Cheers Eske

Nope i didnt adjust ANYTHING. and the pickup height STAYED THE SAME i made sure so i could make as accurate as possible. I agree whole heartedly though, the 700 just seems SO MUCH more balanced. I just got done playing it thru a JSX Head and a Mesa cab and . It slayed. |
