Conklin Groove Tools 7

Has anyone ever played one of these? I'm tempted to try and pick one up but once shipping and import duty are added to get one shipped here, it's quite an investment. Still, there's just something about them which is like an itch I can't scratch

FYI, they're out of production - you'll have to find one second hand.

If they'd made a fanned fret Groove Tools, I'd be ALL over that, and would own one by now. Other than that, they look pretty solid...

Yeah, I was outbid on one on ebay a while back (with Bartolini pickups) and have since kind of regretted allowing it to happen. There are a few sites I've seen with a second hand one in stock for $400-$450 or thereabouts, the ebay one went for $350 with better pickups. Damn it anyway.

I've played both the trem and non-trem versions. Neither made me want to buy it. Very nice in terms of construction, though, so they just may not fit my tastes.
