For a guitar to have minimal if any fret buzz and still maintain proper tension, you're supposed to have about .010 inches forward bow, give or take but no more than .015. There's an easy way to check it. Put a capo on the first fret and fret the last fret of your D string and measure the gap with a feeler gauge. If you've got .015 or more you need to tighten your truss rod. Just tighten it a 10th of a turn at a time and recheck the gap until you get to around .010.
