Yeah, I gotta concur... I've had the CST in drop-A for a while now (thank you, Tremol-No! ), and while for soloing I prefer standard, if I get a band together I'm probably tuning to Drop-A. It just lends itself really well to OSI and Tool style riffing...

Kane has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I've always played 3 note power chords, plus I like to add a lot of high note tremolo picking in my riffs. With drop tuning I feel like I have double the playability that I used to. I play technical/brutal death metal to give you an idea of what I like to do, but I think I'm sold on drop tuning, and will now start converting my songs to drop tuning!! =)

Ya ya. Das Pod is uber cool, ya? Can it get ze Rudi Schenker rock und roll tone?

Read up on all you can before getting into the truss rod tweaking. There probably are some good tutorials on the net now on setups

If you do end up at a tech do a bit of research first. Make sure you get someone competant!

In my band I use drop-C on my 6-string and A-standard on my 7-string because I can't seem to decide on either drop tuning or standard fully and like both for different uses

I'll join you. I like my strings to all be the same interval apart, so it's BEADGCF. I must be a closet bass player

When I joined End Theory, they were already in Drop A. I just had to adapted. However, I'm currently writing stuff in Standard B. Now THEY will have to adapt!

I do the same thing. It's easier for me just to learn them in 7 string standard.
