I know this is a dumb question...
Well, for those of you who have started seeing me post more and more on here, you might have noticed that I have migrated from Jacksons to Ibanez exclusively, therefore, lots of questions. anyways, I love the trem on my RG1077XL (i believe the LoPro Edge, correct me if im wrong.), and i was wondering, Does Ibanez still make these identical trems except for 6ers?
heres a pic of the trem ![]() Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL |

No, it's been replaced with the Edge Pro. Any higher end trem equipped Ibanez RG 6 string will have a Lo-Pro from around 1991 up until around 2001. Some of the S models had them too, prior to going over to the ZR trem.

I dont think they are still being manufactured but they're certainly still available. Try ibanezrules.com under the parts section, or just check the 'bay.

Yep- PLENTY of LoPro's out there, but they're not coming on production guitars.
BTW- There are no dumb questions; only Jemsite.
"Thank YOU, Jim Day!"

now heres the additional question. say i want to swap my EGDE III trem out for the LoPro Edge, and im not worried about being able to use it (meaning i dont use trems for the dives and shit, i fix all of em, just love the feel of em), would it work?

Im almost certain there would be routing involved although most of it would not be visable as it would be hidden by the trem. I do not own any Edge III's so I cannot be sure. Im kinda surprised that you like the blockier saddles of the lopro edge as opposed to the rounded saddles of the more modern edge's. I could understand if you were a heavy whammy guy the preference for a lopro however.

If you're just going to block it anyway, I'd say it's not worth it.

and i can see your point, but when i play my 1077 with the LoPro, i like the feel of it with my hand a lot better than the EDGE III, i dont know, im just picky, lol. So if i were to get a LoPro Edge for a 6, as long as i routed it right on the inside, would everything else operate as it should, ie string spacing over the wizard II neck (not gonna end up with my high e off the fretboard or anything?)

Seeing as the Edge 3 is kind of a hybrid of the Edge and Lo-Pro designs, you might not need to route. Try a Lo-Pro in there first and see how it goes.
