Buzzing on B and E

I've got some mad buzz on my B and E strings, my guitar is pretty brand new, had it for a day. I adjusted the bass end of the TOM and tried shimming the nut a little, but no go. What could be wrong? Please tell me its the brand new strings being bitches, and not my nut or bridge.

You may need a truss rod adjustment... if no, What size string are you using?

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

It's still the stock strings, which are 10-56.

The relief on my neck is just a millimeter or two..it might need an adjustment.

Try raising the action a little. If that doesn't help, you may need a truss rod adjustment. If you've never done one before, you could seriously screw up your neck, though, if you're not careful...

I'm not so sure if it's the truss rod because if he still has the stock strings on then I'm guessing it's fairly new so the truss rod should be alright unless whoever set it up did a bad job or you bought it straight out of a store where it could have been previously played. Also, if it's been on a plane with the strings on it with some tension that might do it.

-Kind of a wildcard but for what it's worth you may want to check to back to see if the solder job is good. Or maybe your amp is haviong problems and doesnt want handle a lot of treble right now?

Do you know my name?

If its been doing this since new, have a look at frets. Is it doing it on open strings? Is there a particular fret where the string stops buzzing? It could simply be an uneven/too tall fret that is buzzing. See if you can localise the buzzing - where it is coming from.

uneven frets.. You might need to have them leveled. Most production guitars dont get a lot of hand detail in the fret dressing department. I'd have a tech chech it out and level them. one or two high frets can cause a lot of problems.

Having my frets leveled seems like the best action, seeing as how its on the 3 bass strings (BEA) all over the neck. It has to be the frets. I'll have my instructor take a look at it.

If they do need to be leveled, what kind of process is it? A couple days? Expensive? I can't think of anyone besides guitar center that might be able to do it for me...

umm just go check if you need a truss rod adjustment- you can do it yourself... if your rod is set up correctly and youve shimmed then go get your frets leveled- you dont want to file them down too much, thats akin to wearing them out (if you like big frets)
