EBMM JP7 Mystic Dream Arrival Picstory!!! (56K, no soup for you!)
Well I snapped some pictures yesterday and today of the JP7 arrival, my girlfriend helped with a couple too! This guitar is fantastic! I don't find my left arm getting as fatigued as it does with the Ibby neck carves as it is a tiny bit thicker and I guess it does make the difference in my case!
 This guitar plays and sounds fanstastic! I need to play her through a tube amp to really get the nuances of this guitar, but even through my GNX3000 and Cube 30X this guitar sounds phenominal! The custom DiMarzio neck pickup really shines on this guitar. The middle and neck positions are amazing. The bridge position is pretty cool, the D-Sonic is a good pickup but I definitely see myself swapping it out in the future when I can afford to do so. Might go BareKnuckle or Lundgren for the bridge, but I need to find something that will stay hot, tight and still retain a great splittable tone in the middle position like it does now! The piezos sound very cool too but I need to try them out through an acoustic amp or a PA to get the full sound without the sharp tone piezos tend to have through a normal amp.  These guitars (EBMM JP6 and JP7) are definitely some of THE highest quality off-the-shelf guitars I've ever had the pleasure of playing, and I've had the opportunity to play some $3-6K guitars that don't play OR sound as great as these do!  Now, for what you've all been waiting for... the pictures!!!  Nice little delivery from the UPS man... too bad he left it on the FRONT LAWN! WTF?!  Yep, exactly what I wanted.... every option except the JP shield inlays!  Need something sharp and exact.... how about a brand new box cutter? Okee!  What's this peeking out from the box?  Woo hoo!!! Brand new MusicMan case!  Still wrapped in the plastic from the factory! Nice!  Removed the plastic, looking good!  That Mystic Dream finish is sexy!  Headstock is in one piece, good job (for once!  ) UPS! Little more color change action....  This one came out great, I absolutely LOVE the finish on this guitar!  More headstock action...  Now the REAL photo shoot begins....  Work it... work it.... you're a lemur!  Burrow!!! Burrow!!!!  Now she's purple.....  ... and now she's green!!!  Another shot that came out great... the mystic dream is hard to capture and make it look as good as it does in person!   Yet another headstock pic....  The neck is perfect IMHO.... a little birdseye and a little flame... great chunk of maple!!!  Mmmmm gotta love that figuring!!! Dead sexy!  This is the lucky guy who gets to keep her!  That forearm contour cut plays like heaven!!!  Some more color-change shots.....   Fin. Hope you enjoyed... other than my Thorns this is by far one of my favorite guitars!!! I've wanted one of these for like 5 years now and I could FINALLY buy one so I snagged it a brand new one at a great price!   |
