![]() ![]() | Any accidents with your gear? What accidents did you had with your guitar or amp? Well, when I get back my guitar from a setup from a shop, I putted in my gig bag, and I put it on my back. I went out the the street, and it was raining. My mistakes was that I closed the gigbag on the bottom, and the weigth of the guitar opened the bag and the guitar fell down to the durty, wett street. I was very scared, but there was only a few dings on the body and the strappin on the bottom has deformed but nothing serios. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, recently actually... and I still feel horrible. My boss lent me about 1K in boutique pedals (anyone know of BJFE?) 3 weeks ago. I kept urging him to let me take them back over to him because I don't like holding on to too valuable stuff like that when it belongs to someone else. Wouldn't you know it, the day he asked me over was Memorial Day and some IDIOT in my apartment building spilled beer all over the steps and I slipped and fell down the stairs (yeah, ouchies) with these five pedals in my hands. Fortunately nothing major got damaged... all the pedals still function 100% but one of them had the knob totally crack inside the box and Bjorn uses these weird little knobs and I haven't found anywhere that carries them in the US. I told him I'd pay to buy a new one, he just had to ask Bjorn to ship him one. I feel really badly... first and only time I've ever had an accident with gear, and it wasn't even mine. Note to self: next time there is a holiday weekend and those tools upstairs (college kids... *sigh*) are partying with beers in their hands on the stairwell... punch them all in the face. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Other accidents: -> Various chips and dents, and learning early on to use locking straps -> Adjusting the posts on an edge trem, only to watch it snap after forgetting about the locking stud (has happened a few times) -> In the early days, overtightening the locking in a floyd rose bridge, and consequently stripping the thread rendering said bridge useless -> Breaking trem arms on edge trems by pulling up to get high pitched screams and holding the guitar up by the bar. Also managed to strip a trem arm holder doing this. Guy at the guitar shop couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe it the next few times either... -> Killed a few radio packs in a battle with a pumpkin that had invaded the stage...(although, to be fair, this wasn't an accident) -> Watched a 2:90 i'd borrowed fall of the cab through vibrations, that was bad, it survived, but the triaxis didn't and needed fixing. -> Plugging in a power amp output into the send of my noisegate a year ago. Power amp survived, half of the noise gate didn't -> Several guitars falling of stands resulting in large chips. And probably a lot more than this, but i can't remember... |
