Step 2: Take the output from the noise gate (rack mount) and plug it into the speaker out instead of the line level input Step 3: turn on power amp Step 4: wonder why it's not making noise Step 5: realise the mistake, turn of power amp, and plug everything in as it should be plugged in. Step 6: swear profusely Step 7: plug it all in, and strangely enough, listen to the noise gate make funny looped noises that could be the next dancefloor hit. Step 8: swear profusely again, count blessings it's a stereo unit and that one side still works. |

I had two pints of Bud get dumped over a TSL (which is top vented) head 15 minutes before the start of a set at a frathouse toga party my senior year when my guitar, which was leaning agaisnt the head and 2x12, got knocked over and swiped the two beers I'd put there as it fell. It shattered two tubes and fried the fuse.
Moral of the story - never put beers on top of a top-vented head. It was a relatively painless fix, but it ate up the cash I made on that gig and meant I had to play my set with a hastily-borrowed Spyder combo.

Parcel Farce tried their best to destroy my amp a few weeks ago. I'm not convinced it was an accident though

apparently some stripper ho fucked up the finish on my RG7620 in a previous incarnation, but besides that i've been pretty lucky.
I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

this is why i ALWAYS insist on carrying my own gear. if i fuck something up, fine, i'll deal with it. if someone else does, well, that hurt goes deep
![]() besides, i tend to baby my gear, and i just don't trust anyone else handling it ![]() |

I think the worst I've done was bang the headstock on the ceiling while take the guitar off. This was probably back in high school but I'm still paranoid about doing that now.
