Tremolo popping sound

One thing I've always noticed about my K7 is that everyimte I pull the tremolo upwards there is this popping sound. Almost like one of the strings is slipping through the nut but I tighten them pretty tight. Anyone else have this happen to them with tremolo's? Thanks.

Ah, the suffering. The sweet suffering.

Have you tried to put your ear to your guitar while it's making that popping sound to find the location? It sounds like it could be in the trem cavity IMO.

P.S. you have a PM.

Check where the knives meet the posts on the trem itself. Sounds like an issue there. If it were the nut slipping you'd be going out of tune on a big scale each time you pulled up.

Either that or the springs are repositioning themselves on the spring claw when you pull up on the tremolo, causing that sound.

I think you may be right here, I've had this happen to me before and it's a pain in the ass.
