the "Behemoth" 7 string

Check this out:
Its made for the guys from Behemoth after they got endorsed by Mayones, but before they got endorsed by ESP.
It looks to be heavily modelled after Nergal's old RG7620...

By far the coolest aspect: Setting the Tune-O-Matic into the body a little bit so they didnt have modify the neck angle as much..

That's cool!

Nergal's tone kicked ass on Zos Kia Cultus, so it really seems that he made a right move when he changed to 7-strings.

It sucks that Emperor had to quit, otherwise we might have an Ihsahn signature 7-string nowdays

totally. i wouldnt mind one. He uses both 6 and 7 strings regularly in rotation now, its not an exclusive thing.. but its still cool they use them a lot.

Gibson is insecure so they sue anyone who makes a guitar that looks similar and is far more reasonably priced than their 300000000$ guitars.

I dunno how PRS falls into the reasonably priced range, but I guess Gibson did wait for the SE line to come out and become popular before taking legal action.

I'm amazed ESP hasn't been hassled yet.

Esp has actually been hassled...they changed the lower horn and control configuration on their 2005 Eclipses and ECs.

Not to mention the RG is pretty much a ripoff of a Jackson Dinky.

That Mayones would be perfect with one more pickup and a sculpted neck joint.

ESP is very careful not to sell guitars in the US that violate and Gibson or Fender trademarks or patents. They're always just different enough - that's why they pulled the V and Explorer lines in the '90s, 'cause Gibson got aggressive about suing over those shapes.

For the record, Gibson and Fender are merciless piles of crap with many lawyers.

Back on-topic, eh, it's cool enough, but an RG with a Tuna? Nice idea, but not very original...

You'll note it's not available in the U.S.

But, yeah, Alexi actually wanted to stay with Jackson, but ESP offered to make him guitars in six weeks after his were stolen, as opposed to FMIC/Jackson's "get in the custom shop line, oh, and pay full street price" answer.
