Piezo, ebony board, neck thru??

I am looking to buy a 7 string with:
* piezos
* ebony board
* neck thru

or:
7 string sort of hybrid with:
* nylon strings
* piezos
* ebony board

I will be using it for clean sounds a lot. Bass + chords, et c. That is why I want it (piezo, neck thru, ebony board).

I have considered the RG8127 even tho it is bolt on and rosewood board. at around 2k, it's not ideally what i want. I would pay 2k if it was neck thru and had an ebony board, though.

Price range is around 1200-2200.

Are there any guitars I should look at ?

Guitar stores don't have this. I will probably have to order from the net.

Can anyone please recommend some guitars for me to check out?

For what you want you need a custom builder like Oni Guitars, Sherman Guitars or KXK.

Eric's right, you're pretty much going to have to get a custom... and you won't be getting piezos on a floyd-style trem as nobody makes them.

I'm basically getting exactly what you're looking for built by KxK with a TOM bridge, except my board is birdseye maple. I believe you'd be looking at ~$2600 in a solid color with his current pricing for an SII-7 with piezos, but you'd need to contact Rob at KXK Guitars - Custom Made in the USA to be sure.

Oh and the 8127 doesn't have piezos and you can't have them installed as noone makes piezo saddles for the bridge on it.

I actually just looked at ESP Horizon online. It looks like a great guitar. Do they make 7 string version?

I don't need a floyd rose. If I really need whammy for the 7, i'll get a whammy pedal. I'm more interested in getting good clean sounds on it. String thru body would sound warmer.

What I'm hearing is kind of swing style walking bass and chords plus straight 16th shred/bebop solos. I think this would be cool and I want to play that.

So I want to get a warm sounding, seven string guitar that is an electric guitar that I can play through guitar amp, not a PA.

To be honest for piezos you're going to want a full frequency amp or a pa, not a guitar amp. Guys that are known for using piezos in the rock world, like Petrucci, run their piezo output to the PA.

As for ESP/LTD, the only seven string guitars they currently make are the Stephen Carpenter sigs and the Viper. Now there are used M and H series guitars from ESP/LTD... but I think the expensive high-end Carpenters are the only ones with Ebony boards.

the ibanez 2027 xvv has peizo and floyd ross bridge, however its not nech thru and has a rosewood board, used they go for about $1200

Assuming you can actually find one, as they're pretty rare and not made anymore.

I just looked at blackmachine. I like that. No paint or finish, just good wood. Not neck thru and no peizos, though. Doesn't even look like hes selling it.

A Blackmachine will set you back over $4000 because of the exchange rate, and his wait time was up to 12 months so I think he stopped taking orders.

The KxK SII-7 is probably the closest you're going to get to what you want, that or an ESP Carpenter and then adding piezos to it aftermarket.
