Very close to buying a...
Schecter Jeff Loomis sig model. Anyone own or play one? Thoughts? Pics? After 25 years of playing this will be my first 7 string axe.

![]() Do a search, there a ton of threads on the Hellraiser. Concensus seems to be that they're great guitars. I've never owned one personally, but I have owned/played other Schecters and they were quality instruments. The biggest thing I would say is play one first, as if you're used to thin necks the Hellraiser may not be to your liking.

It's not that thick then. When I tried one of those I thought it was pretty easy to move around on.

Welcome! I think it's a nice looking guitar and I bet it sounds good and plays good. I never played one, i'd love too.

The neck is big, but it's got a very good profile to it, and it really doesn't feel as big as it is. I find no problem in switching between my Loomis and my JP7 neck wise.
It sounds killer. Clear and sharp on the bridge, warm and hot on the neck. Only downsides to this guitar for me: 1. No right hand countor on the body, takes getting used to. 2. Frets are a bit too hugh for my liking. |
