Yeah, so for anyone who hasn't kept up to date on the world of Matt, I fixed everything with my girl and we're back to being really happy! That also means my timeframe to get that money back to her has been extended. Like I said, the pressure wasn't really coming from her before, it was more of me feeling bad for holding onto money longer than I "should" have. Now, with that out of the way....

Matt just bought a new 7!!!!

I found an EBMM JP-7 on eBay in Mystic Dream finish (piezo but NO inlays, which is exactly what I wanted!) that didn't sell. It was the SAME music store in Florida that I pointed Steve (technomancer) to that had his pearl redburst for a crazy good price.

Well, they were asking $1899 for the JP7 on eBay (brand new, it's a music store) and it didn't sell so it hadn't been relisted yet as it has only been a few days since the auction ended. Fortunately they post the phone number for the store on the auction!!!

I scored myself a BRAND NEW, MINT JP-7 in Mystic Dream + piezo for $1850!!!

Yep, not only did my girl allow me more time to give her back the money she gave me already, she bought this for me (for now, I will have to pay her back obviously

)! She rocks, I'm glad we're okay again.

I'll post a full picstory once I receive her this week but here are the eBay shots for now:

Worst part is... it will be at my girlfriend's house by Wednesday or Thursday and I can't have it until Friday night!

when you say "no inlays," i'm assuming you mean that it doesn't have the JP shield at the first fret and then the smaller shields in the usual spots? b/c that clearly has dots starting on the 3rd fret.

It is a great guitar, you have no idea what you are in for - the first time you play it, and then the first time you look at it out in the sunlight. The finish really pops under nice light.

So how much debt are you in to your girlfriend? Seems like buying a $2k guitar is not a sign of good faith when you owe someone what sounds like a lot of money.

that's awesome, I'll be real interested in hearing how you think this compares to the Carvin playability wise, if you find it more comfortable or not.
I've been gassing for one of these but I haven't had the chance to try one yet.
there's a white one on EBay right now that's calling my name but I don't know if I'll like it or not.

oh and Hold on to that girl for god's sakes, there aren't that many out there
that "get it" like yours seems to. (I'm lucky my wife is the coolest when it comes to buying gear)
