Preston is on a distinguished road
Dissapointed and impressed

Well, my local Guitar Center finally had a C-7 Hellraiser in stock when I was there and I was excited to finally get to check one out (even though it was the black model and I have been eyeing the black cherry one). I wasn't worried as I probably would have ordered one online anyways, I just wanted to play the guitar and see if it was right for me.

Upon first picking up the guitar, I was immediately dissapointed. It has a sort of cheap feeling to it, not really sure exactly was making it feel this way though. Maybe since I have been wanting to play/get one for soooo long now, I just over hyped myself expecting it to be this amazing guitar that no guitar could live up to. Or maybe since I have a strong dislike towards all black guitars I mentally disregaurded it as anything I would like from the start. Who knows??? Maybe I'll go back over there again and give it another go and see if my opinion changes.

On another note, one of my other local guitar shops had the sc-607 and sc-607b in stock. I played the black 607b first and I must say that I was really impressed. I played the natural 607 after that and I think that will probably be my next guitar. I have been wanting to have an extended scale guitar but after playing the hellraiser and 607b I think I'll stick to standard scale length (I feel more at home on the stardard scale).

Oh, and the best part. The 607 was ony $699!!! And the 607B was only $729. As soon as I offload a couple pieces of equipment I'll most likely be over there to pick up the 607, though I want to give the extended scale guitars a few more tries.

How long did it take you guys to get use to the longer scale???

When i tried a hell raiser at guitar center for the first time it was horrible, bad tone, and the guitar felt weird for some reason.

Then i tried one at another guitar store and i loved it, i think guitar center just dosent set them up, or change the batteries in them.

If you want a guitar from Guitar Center, you try them somewhere else if you aren't sure yet, then, you make them get one out of the back that hasn't been taken out of the box and molested by a brigade of 12 year olds playing enter sandman... and then you take it home and set it up yourself.

Well i dont know about yall, but i personally think after playing a 25.5 scale seven, a 26.5 scale seven, and now my 27 scale seven, I personally feel like all sevens should be 27". the tension and intonation with it is phenominally better and the feel took NO getting used tooo. and ive ALWAYS played 25.5 scale guitars.

Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL

True, maybe the guitar was with old strings and a lot of etceteras. The best it's to try the guitar in your house with your rig, then you will see if you like it or not.

All the schecter 7s always look gaudy and cheap to me. They used that ugly gre7 pearl binding on some instead of nice white pearl binding. They add abalone to everything and it looks gaudy. They also just aren't very pretty to me. I hate black cherry and black is boring. But then again, I would just never buy a schecter because I hate how they feel.

I know, man, the black makes it really hard for me to play, too.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

Though, as evidenced by your video you posted, you suffer through it and manage ok

I personally love my Hellraiser in Black Cherry. It's just friggin' beautiful, and feels perfect. Definitely the least cheap feeling guitar I've ever played (though, my other guitars actually are cheap, so maybe that's the reason for me )
