He'll probably offer them in his store as well but if he rules them out as a custom type of item then you'll have to wait.

Well, he got his business rolling by doing some unique stuff at dirt-cheap prices, delivered a bunch of stuff, got good word-of-mouth spreading and the orders came flooding in. At least he's got the resources to hire an extra set of hands for producing the work and someone to handle communications and getting quotes out.

Temporarily closing off custom orders so they can build an inventory of parts will help give them quick-turnaround cash flow to keep the business going and they can return to the more custom build-to-order stuff.

It's a tough decision, but i think it's the right one for this stage in his growth. It's the kind of move that EKG, LGM, and numerous others should have taken, but didn't, and they collapsed under the weight of their own workload.

So did i.

But i hold no ill will toward Jeremy. He made a go of it in a tough business, worked really hard (and continues to work really hard), but just had a rough time with the whole business side of it, and ultimately couldn't pay himself a living wage building guitars.

cw has to be making good money, i know he hired another dude, but i'm sure hes making enough to hire more people, this situation sucks for him because hes basically hemoageing cash from all the lost orders, but, where as he is a master luthier, hopefully his first crash course in business will have taught him how to do things more efficently in the future, i think hes doing the right thing for his company right now, unfourtunally it kinda fucks alot of us over,
