If i were doing that, i'd tune CGCFADG
Actually, if i were doing it, i'd do C Standard with a high F, cause i cant stand playing in drop tunings.

I've been curious to try that one for a while...

Nothing like a good depressant to chase the blues away!

I think that kind of a tuning is good if you don't plan of riffing off the low F all the time. If you plan on playing the majority of songs in C (or simply off the low C string), it can be pretty cool. It you just play off the F... it'll suck big time.

That doesn't sound like a very logical tuning. You have the 7th and 6th string tuned to the exact same note, not in octaves or anything, but the exact same note.

My personal recommendation would be either GCGCFAD or FCGCFAD for tuning a 7 in drop C.

Or you could go the high route and go CGCFADG.
if i hadnt quit my old band before we wrote new riffs then this would have been the tuning i used...

Yeah that F# can give you some blood-unducing sounds , it's pretty ridiculous

I would go CGCFADG. Cool tuning and similar to the DADGBEG I already use.

C-standard style w/ a high F does have a nice and tight sound to it.

what i used was GCGCFAD, and the low G just rumbled. It reminded me of Mike Mushok's baritone tuning with Staind (G# C# G# C# F# A#)

Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL

I would NEVER tune up a seven string. It pretty much defeats the purpose.

How is that?

The purpose of a 7 is to increase range. There are only two ways you would do this; lowering the pitch, and raising the pitch. In this case, we raise the pitch of the lowest string, and adjust the others to match. It still has a range 4octaves and a major 3rd, just like a standard tuned 7.

You've got your head down
You've got your eyes closed
You look so pitiful now

Your body encrusted with ash
Breath heavy with toxins
Hair singed and matted
Clothes frayed and burnt

You are left with nothing
