Good Ibanez 7-Strings

Its odd but the more I think about it the more I see my self looking like an idiot playing the UV777, there's something about it which I’m having difficulty finding another word for other than 'cheesy'?

Maybe I should just get the sc-607 in black and change the Pups to some rich sounding passive ones....

...hmmm

does anyone know where you can buy decent 7 string Ibanez guitars other than the common ones? Japan sells some beauties... but why the hell not in Europe!!

Anyone know any Jap site that ship to Europe??

Or even any good Ibanez alternatives to the UV777 that are the same or a lower price, and that don’t look boring like the RG1527

Or maybe even some other 7 strings that are in the same class that I may not have even heard of before?

thanks for any help

What is wrong with the UV777BK? Cheesy? That's so absurd.

They play great IMO, yeah, they might look flashy but in person, they look beautiful. Who cares what others think. If you end up liking it, that's all that should matter.

Take it from me, I owned one and miss it dearly. I want another one someday but im so happy with my PWH and BK that I can wait but still, it is one that I want again. They're great guitars.

If you can't get over the looks, get a used 7620.

I think i know what you mean.
I know they're really, really great playing guitar.

But to me, there's a slight tacky factor to it (read pyramid inlays and other 777 triangular stuff). These are "Vai / new age signs" and they're really not my cup of tea.
It's more something that i admire form a distance.

I dunno. I bet it plays Egyptian scales great though

Just kidding it is indeed a nice guitar but if I’m going to pull the trigger and get a new 7 string axe I want to make sure that I’m convinced so I have to be critical about it

I don't know, when I owned one (and im not a huge Vai fan either), I never felt that way. I thought it was classy and beautiful. It played and sounded awesome too. To each his own I guess.

The 7620 was introduced in 1998 and discontinued in 2000. I still have mine that I bought back in 1998 and I also have another one that I scored cheap for 349 on ebay.

Here are pics~

And my first 7, used to be black. I refinished it and put in white blazes~

Keep an eye out on ebay, you might find a decent one going for a decent price.

Or you could score an older UV like I did, they rule IMO.

Ibanez RG7CT. I sold mine when I was hard up for cash, and bought it back when I wasn't. They're pretty sweet. They pop up on jemsite from time to time for sale. Or you could wait around until I'm hard up for cash again and see if I'd sell mine They're somewhat rare, some people say there's only 24, others 48. Either way, she kicks arse. Mahogany body, lo pro edge trem, flame maple top. She's a sexy beast and sounds fucking awesome.
