This is just a small update on the latest with the seven string strat and tele project. The word is patience. They are confident this will happen but it will take time. They have been very grateful for all the information we have gathered on hardware and pickups and all the information about what options we would like and such.

Rob has promised me that as soon as this project moves I will be the first to know. As soon as I know you guys will know.

Just to make things a bit clearer for me,what exactly are we talking about them producing here ?
7 string Tele and Strat necks and bodies with a certain amount of options, right ?

We're not looking at completed custom 7 string Strats and Tele's are we ?

It's just that when you say about pickup and hardware options i got a bit confused.
Are you meaning that they need to know these things so that they can make the bodies and necks compatible with the hardware or what ?

What USACG will produce will be Strat and Tele style necks and bodies that you assemble or get some one to assemble for you. These will not be completed instruments.

As far as options go there will be a few options you can pick out like pickup and bridge routing, thought it won't be every bridge and pickup made, and a few other things. Options will probably be limited relative to their six string line especially at first.

How will they be doing the neck construction? Bolt-on I assume, but will there be neck plates available, or will it just be a direct bolt like an AANJ Ibanez?

I'm excited about the ideas of an H-S-S Strat and a H-S Tele someday...

It will be a bolt-on yes. I assume there will be a neck plate, though I am not 100% certain.

Eric, do you have any info if they would actually do a lefty version of their necks? Not that i want to go on the dark side... I would just love having a reversed one

I'm not sure. I can ask when we start finalizing things. I was thinking about seeing if lefty versions would be doable just so some were out there. It wouldn't be a huge market but it might be a decent option to have.

Yes a reverse headstock would be pretty sweet.
