Seven string strat and tele project

Right now there is nothing new to report. I've seen the CAD renderings.

Also I know they're trying to get a traditional Tele bridge for sevens and they're figuring out the specs on the necks and such. So it's still a ways away. But it is progressing.

I must give a lot of love to Rob and everyone at USACG they have worked far harder and been far more receptive to this idea than I ever imagined. If this project goes as well as I hope it will be major win for guitar players.

The CAD renderings are for my eyes only. Rob asked that I don't share them because of the possibility of their work being stolen. I can say they look outstanding. They look Strats and Teles should. If I posted them people would geek out. They're that good.

It looks right now like the initial run will not offer routes for Floyds and such. But since it's a body and a neck you could always find someone to route it for you if you have to have one.

Great to hear that the project is still up and running! Depending on how a few of my ventures pan out in the forseeable future, I might actually jump on for a wickedly modded 7-string Strat (as I already have a more traditional Strat in the works from Halo)... We're talking obnoxious colours, weird H-H-S configuration, scalloped fretboard and probably a hipshot trem. Anyway, for now I guess patience is the key.

We both ordered around the same time, and I'm guessing September for mine. There was a delay getting the pickups and hipshot bridge, which included the routing templates, so routing of the body didn't get started until sometime around last week. Of course that's just a guess, it could be sooner.

Yup, as Steve wrote, there have been a few delays caused by the Rio Grande PUs and Hipshot trems not arriving as quickly as expected. I'm guesstimating a mid-September delivery as well - which is still a very reasonable time frame for a custom guitar. However, as I'm yet to get a definite ETA, I keep telling myself that it'll be before Christmas - just to remain sane
