Thanks much Steve. Ive had a good run lately on solid 7's. You know - I really love the PAF 7's in mahogany with a maple cap. I feel like I should be putting some retardedly high output pickup in that HRG4, but Im not gonna mess with it at all. Its the closest tone in a 7 string to my Les Pauls which is very bonus for me as Ive always had LP wood.

Im noodling on the LACS as I speak/type. The ash body is hella distinctive sounding. I just grabbed the Noah James Swamp Ash UV I have and it has that same upper end quacky attack to it. I wondered if it was just that guitar, but the LACS has it too. Im thinking more and more I might like ash and maple bodied 7's a bit more than basswood and alder. Mahogany is on the total opposite end of the spectrum.

Very cool. I ask because I've got a creme set that I think I'm going to put in the Christopher Woods RGA7 body if I ever get it and it's very similar to the HRG4 (mahogany body, maple cap, bolt on ibby maple neck w/rosewood board). I've got an alnico 5 and alnico 8 magnets for them as well

Id say definitely yes on PAF7's in that config. Let me know how the magnet swap goes I might have to copy you.

It may be a while... the magnet swap will be easy and probably soon, but I have no idea when I'll get the body at this point, so it could be a while before I get to see what they sound like. Chris is supposed to be getting me an update on Wednesday If I'm lucky there will be some pics so I can post them
