Custom shop BC Rich

Got a chance to play a custom shop BC Rich Warlock 7 string over the weekend. The kind that you have to wait a year for it to be built before its shipped to you. I was definitly impressed with the quality of the guitar itself, and it had a real nice tone and weight. Only thing I didnt like was the neck was SO WIDE. I mean this neck reminded me of a classical guitar in its width and I thought that made it hard to play. However Im sure that was requested by its owner and you can get them with much thinner necks. Overall I was impressed since Im not at all a BC Rich fan. Then again I still liked my Universe more and the Universe was like half the price....

The one I've seen had a 2" nut. I'm used to 1 7/8", so it was pretty wide to me. It was a pretty nice guitar - about as nice as the Washburn Sonic 7 I have. I didn't think it was up to the quality of my Jackson 7, though, and it's at a similar price point to a CS Jackson guitar.

Not to offend any BC Rich fans here, but Im not much of a fan. They look cool, but thats about it, Im yet to play one that really impressed me, not even this custom made one that was surely thousands of dollars. It was nice dont get me wrong, but for that price it should have been better

I've got a 7 String Custom on the way from BC Rich myself.

No offense taken, tbh. BC Rich certainly isn't for everyone.
