Those Jordans aren't quite my style.

Carvins are nice guitars though! They have rather cheap customs?

John makes guitars to your exacting specs, as he did my TFS6.

Neal Moser used to work for B.C. Rich, He designed the Bich, The Seagull, The Virgin, and co-designed the Beast/Spawn. He'll also make an instrument to your exacting specs. He's a good guy, good friend too. You can't go wrong with him.

I've noticed that there are too many strat and superstrat models out there, not enough Les Pauls!

Well, it kind of depends on what bodywood / options you're after.

KxK looks like one of the best choices at the moment. Though there is something bugging me.

"KxK guitars has made changes to lower the prices, and decrease the build times. All guitars on the guitars page are the models currently being offered and the options that are available with those models. Any other customizations or hardware substitutions are not being accepted.
Guitars will be setup to KxK specifications, tuning, and string gauges only.

Custom fit Coffin cases (200VX) will be included with some guitars. The WarriorV will not fit in these cases, a different case will be available.
The 200VX Coffin case is available separately.

Are they still doing customs?

Ran guitars are good, but I'm not sure if they offer a 7 yet...

Here is pretty much what I have in mind for my custom. Just for the sake of posting.

25" Scale
24 Jumbo Frets
Mahogany/Alder Body
Mahogany Neck
Ebony Fretboard
Fixed Tone Pros Bridge
Locking Grover Tuners
Air Norton 7 in the Neck
Evo7 in the bridge
Something between a Gibson Les Pauls and an ESP Eclipse body style

I'm still not too sure of colors, or a fretboard radius.

i got my custom made guitar by Pas - Handmade Guitars for 1000usd , its mahogany neck-thru,24 frets, custom inlay,takeuchi floating bridge,2 merlin hell fire. you can check it at the custom gallery there its under the name Lancer. RAN makes cool guitars but they are 500-1000usd more expensive.
