Hey guys,

I tend to hate these posts myself, because they do come accross as being written by lazy people, but in this case it's not the ... euhm... case.

I've been looking at all kinds of guitar brands, and I'd like to find a guitar with the following specs
- Strings: Seven (aha!)
- Body: Ash (whatever kind)
- Fingerboard: ebony
- Floyd: if possible, not necessarily
- If possible: longer scale (just cus I like the space, not for downtuning)
- If possible, would be cool if I can choose pickups while ordering

I want to make sure I haven't forgotten any brands...

What brand names come to mind when you here these specs?

There aren't any production 7 strings you can spec pickups too when you order. Are you looking at custom gear?
Other than that I think your talking about either an SC-607B (ebony, long scale) Schecter something or other (long scale and the C7-FR has a floyd rose) or perhaps an Ibanez?

Why are you wanting an Ash body?

Carvin DC727 or DC747, though you can't spec the pickups. You can swap them out of course, though Carvin routes might need a little widening. Otherwise it's a custom builder you need to speak to.

custom is not a problem, the point was only you guys suggesting some custom shops...

An ash body just because I have a mahogany, heard good things bout it, and there's no point to me in having similar guitars...

Go custom, will mean you'll get exactly what you want. And I'd go with swamp ash, it's basically ash grown in swamps, and the wood ends up more porous.

Custom build wise, there's a few people that'll do them. Richard Fay seems to do good work, as does Feline Guitars, but they're all in england.

I have, but to be honest, I don't really trust a 500 dollar guitar.

Well the only thing the Jeff Loomis signature guitar doesn't have from your list is the ebony fretboard, but it has maple which is halfway between rosewood and ebony (tone wise) and its only $900. It has an original Floyd and everything. Swamp ash body, cool finish, feels like a neck through.

You would be stuck with EMGs then, but maybe that would float your boat. If it doesn't, Carvin will make you what you want.
