Looking in getting into 7 strings
First of I must say this is a good a helpfull site/forum!
So i was thinking about getting a 7 string but I am not sure on what to get. I did some looking around and i find 3 7 string who look really nice. - a rg7321 for €350 - a K7 for €900 - a J.Custom for a few years back not sure what number but it has air norton+zone zone and off set dots. for €1500 I know obviously which is the better choise but it's also a question about money so i was lookign for some general input. I am leaning toward the rg7321 cause it's my first seven string but seeing as i need to do a couple of mods(pick-ups,etc) it might become pretty expensive too. So i stated to think i might as wel go for a higher model all together Well i don't really know what info to give or something. So at least thanks for reading ![]() |

K7 - I think it's bad for 1-st seven
7321 - good for first seven but 350 Euro it's too much for it. J.Custom - very good. See k7 was madde for one very specific guy. More the k7 is not make now by Ibanez now they make APEX (Munky signature guitars). But if you want play exacly KORN MUSIC it's perfect for it.
Sorry for my english

yeah i am not a big fan of buying a signature (exept if it's really good)
And i might krank a few korn tunes when i get a seven string but that would be mostly for the hell of it. Cause i am not really into korn(some nice tunes though) And i might be able to haggle some of every guitar. |

I would suggest looking into getting a 7620/7621. That would make a good first 7. All you'd have to do is swap out the pups. Personally, I wouldn't recommend going in for a high end 7 right in the beginning.

Well, I'll be taking the role of Devil's advocate on this one:
Get the best 7 you possibly can! If you can swing a J-Custom, get that beast!!! Basically, there is nothing to fear from a 7-string - it's just a 6-string with an extra string's worth of possibilities - so don't get a budget guitar to test the waters... Get a quality axe and give 7s a real shot - if worst comes to worst (which it won't) it's much easier to sell a quality axe than a POS Tone-Killer. I don't get why people are so adverse to the K7 - I think it's an excellent guitar! The thing might have been built to fit the needs of two specific guitarists, but it's just a mahogany bodied RG7 with quality PUs and no tone control. IMHO, the K7 looks great (save for the silly inlay), has great PUs (PAF7 FTW), a sweet neck, one of the best trems out there and a price tag that isn't too scary... If you can get a new one for 900$, I say go for it! Cheers Eske

The K7 it's a piece of guitar, my friend. Mahogany and Dimarzio pickups, think that it's total equiped. Exellent bridge, exellent wood and sick pickups.
The Jcustom it's another price, but it's a great guitar too.

thanks for the input guy's!
How would the S7320 compare to a Rg model I know a bit about rg's but i have never played a S serie. Are there other models that are really good value models out there.( would be cool to have the normal/the reasonable price one is worth price with that) That way i can look around. the custom i mentioned is suppose to be a JCRG7-1 DBK And i am looking around for somewhere were i can check a serial number on an ibanez. I haven't looked very far, but if someone could point me the way. |
