Blackmachine = god
Seriously, I know a lot of people here think they are overpriced, but my god, i don't think i've ever heard anything sound better. If you want a guitar that you'll never sell, get one. They are tone and playability mosnsters, they really are.
The reason for this post is bought to you by dough (blackmachine guy, who build ALL the guitars himself) letting me play his two babies which are frankly out of this world. He has a fanned 8 he built for himself, and a 6, and both were simply god like. The amount of note definition on the 8 9which has sound chambers) is simply godlike. Seriously, if any of you guys are considering a guitar and have the cash, it's more than worth it, it's like listening to jesus if he was a guitar. and alive. and real. |

Just to add, i think the next axe i buy will be a blackmachine 7 or 8, and I really don't think it could be topped in terms of sound and quality.

man, it is just amazing stuff. just the sound of the things is incredible, it leterally wipes the floor with anything else i've ever heard. Just crystal clear and full, rich, amazing.
Every guitar he builds he works to his stupidly high standards as he knows they are expensive, and wants people to be pleased. Chris, if you ever want an amazing guitar that'll make you sell everything else, get one of these. I just can't get over how good those tqwo guitars were i had a go on today. Planted a shit eating grin 10 miles wide on my face. Even the fanned fret you get used to pretty quickly, and the neck is the same width as a 7. Plays like butter... You know you need one. It's worth more than what you pay for it. |

man, this thing sounds like a 6 string, sounds like a 7 string, and sounds like an 8 string. It just nails all the right frequency ranger, everything comes through clear and defined, and it's a work of art.
The 8 with tone chambers simply beat the shit out of any guitar i've ever heard, full, clear, brilliant note dfefinition, and surprisingly easy to play and get used to the fan frets. The 8 also has those staggered humbuckers in it, which sound fucking amazing, even though I think i still prefer the sound of the first fanned 8 he made, which I'd literally kill for! |

I think if you want a non fanned fret it's less, but the fanned fret just sounds better, it really does get the sound right for each range, 6-7-8 string, just nails all of it! i can't stop raving about them. Man, I wash i had a mountain of cash! |

I'd WOULD kill for a B7 but I don't think I'd pay what they ask for them
. Aren't they about $3000? |

Oh, and with doug, there really isn't a standard option. No crazy inlays, he refuses to do finishes (as they impede the tone apparently).
Price is very largely dependant on the woods and ability to source them. |
